Mold of Pilgrimage
The opening of the wall consists of two arches; wide and tall. The wide arch represents god’s acceptance broadly opened to people who wish to pray to enter. While prayers go through morphed surface continuing until the other arch that is tall completely out of human scale, prayers are able to find existence of god in the greatness of the scale. Here, the wall is not for dividing but for protecting gently above prayers. The wall would include its structural strength and dynamism by using arch that delivers its dead load down to the bottom. This dynamism induces people to feel what god has done and he can do it again so they also can feel they also can do. Therefore, by showing how god stands here, it truly becomes a monument of remembrance and a symbol of hope for individual prayers. The juxtaposition of the wall purely represents the pilgrimage. In the idea of pilgrimage, it is considered that not only destination but also the process itself is important. Through the movement from the one to the others, the experience itself is once reset and prayers are able to find the meaning of the wall from a different perspective. It shows similar shape but higher and wider wall repeats. It is also possible to add the character of each wall, especially if different program is needed.
